Phil 'The Power' Taylor is retiring

A look at Phil 'The Power' Taylor's career in numbers as the multiple World Champion says his career is coming to an end after the PDC World Championship.

Philip Douglas Taylor was born on August 13, 1960 in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, and he is one of the most famous darts players on the planet.

He got his nickname The Power by Sky Sports production manager Peter Judge, during 1995 World Matchplay in Blackpool. Judge was thinking what nickname to give to young Taylor, and he then accidentally stepped on the CD case of Snap!'s album The Power, and the rest is history!

The Power is using Snap!'s The Power track as his walk-on music, and he is also using Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copland.

Phil The Power Taylor is currently on the sixth position in the world, and this 57-year-old has almost every tournament and championship title there is.

Taylor's favorite darts are 26 g Target Power95 Gen 4.
