Wimbledon day one: Roger Federer and Serena Williams victorious
Roger Federer and Serena Williams both won their first-round singles matches on a day temperatures soared at Wimbledon.
From July 2 until July 15 the 132th edition of Wimbledon will take place in Church Road, London.
Current champion of men's singles is Roger Federer, and he is doing great still, even though some have predicted the end of this 36-year-old's career a long time ago.
In his first 2018 Wimbledon match, Roger Federer managed to beat young Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic.
Federer is almost 10 years older than Lajovic, but he bested him with 6:1, 6:3, 6:4 score and ensured further placement.
And one of the best tennis players in women's singles Serena Williams have beaten the 27-year-old Dutch tennis player Arantxa Rus. The score was 7:5, 6:3.
Williams' next match will be against Bulgarian player Viktoriya Tomova, and Federer will play against Slovakia's Lukas Lacko.
