Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo admits 'mistake' which led to red card in Liverpool game
Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo speaks about the incident which saw him sent to the stands in the Champions League game against Liverpool.
The 47-year-old had received a telling off from the referee in the first period when Sevilla led 1-0, having thrown the ball away as Liverpool looked to take a quick throw in.
In the second half, with his side 2-1 behind, he did similar, but this time was sent to the stands.
His Sevilla side would go on to equalise and earn a 2-2 draw, but afterwards, his main focus was detailing his behaviour.
Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo has given a bizarre explanation for his touchline antics, which led to his sending off at Anfield.
The Argentine was dismissed by referee Danny Makkelie for throwing the ball away in the second half as Joe Gomez tried to take a throw in.
But Berizzo insisted he had intended to do it as a FAVOUR for the Reds – having stopped one of their counter attacks with a similar action in the first half.
