Wenger: "I thought they would never take a gamble to play this game"
Arsene Wenger admits he was planning a date for a rearranged Europa League fixture against Cologne as crowd trouble threatened Thursday's game at the Emirates Stadium.
Four people have been arrested outside the Emirates stadium, as thousands of ticketless fans wanted to watch Europe League's game between Arsenal and Cologne.
Kick-off was delayed by an hour on Thursday night, as teams of extra riot police were deployed in a bid to stop mad fans at the north London grounds.
Many of German fans attended the match after marching through the streets of central London earlier in the day.
The Metropolitan City Police said that they were dealing with disorder at the game and said it would be delayed in the interests of crowd safety.
Both clubs had been in dialogue with the UEFA over a possible postponement before a decision to go ahead was confirmed a little over 30 minutes before kick-off.
There were only 3000 tickets for the travelling Cologne fans, and estimated 20 000 fans turned up for Cologne's game.
The game ended with a tie.
