Former England skipper Rio Ferdinand to step into the ring
Former England captain Rio Ferdinand has confirmed he will attempt to become a professional boxer with the ultimate aim of challenging for a title belt.
Ferdinand was a professional soccer player. He played as center-back in many soccer clubs.
He started his soccer career in West Ham United way back in the 1992, as a youth team player.
In 1996, Ferdinand got his chance to play for the senior team of West Ham United, where he stayed until 2000. From 2000, until 2002, Ferdinand was playing for Leeds United. In 2002 he transferred to Manchester United, where he stayed for over a decade, until 2014, with more than 300 appearances for the team.
He ended his soccer career playing for Queens Park Rangers, in 2015.
He also played for England's national team, and is one of the most decorated English soccer players in history.
