Lewis Hamilton could land Sports Personality award after Formula One title glory

Lewis Hamilton has secured his fourth Formula One world title and must now be a strong contender for the 2017 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.


Lewis Hamilton is a British racing driver in Formula One who is driving for the Mercedes AMG Petronas team.

Hamilton is a three-time Formula One World Champion, and is one of the best drivers of his generation, and he is one of the best drivers in the history of Formula 1.

He was born on January 7, 1985 in Stevenage, England. His first entry in Formula One was in 2007, at Australian Grand Prix. His first win came in the same year, at the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix.

Hamilton's last entry was in 2017, at the Italian Grand Prix, where he won.

Hamilton set records for the most consecutive podium finishes from debut - 9; record for joint most wins in a debut season - 4; and the most points in a debut season - 109.

Hamilton's biggest rival was Nico Rosberg.

Even though both drivers were at the same team, their rivalry became too big, and often the two had violent disputes.

Hamilton has 59 wins, and 112 podium positions, with 201 entries in Formula One.
