Fans make a stand about over-zealous stewarding in near-empty Ricoh Arena

Coventry fans have criticised the stewarding at the Ricoh Arena after being forced to sit in allocated seats despite a largely empty stadium.

The footage online appears to show a group of fans being asked by stewards to sit in the allocated seats displayed on their tickets.

Despite a crowd of less than 1500 people, for the Checkatrade Trophy tie against West Brom U21s on November 7.

By the way, the capacity of the Ricoh Arena - where the match was held - is 32 609 seats!

It remains the mystery why stewards wanted so badly to make those football fans sit on their seats, instead just letting them sit wherever they wanted.
